Don't get me wrong, when I say "church folk," I'm not talking the people who attend regularly. I'm referring to the ones who seem to have a Bible everytime you see them, or can't speak a natural sentence without giving some form of recognition to God or Jesus. I don't know if it's because "church folk," seem to be so out of touch with reality, or because most of them are broke.
In the movie "Sparkle," comedian Mike Epps made controversial a joke about Black people and why we often miss our blessings - because we're too busy praying for them to happen. As inappropriate as the joke was, at the dinner table, with the pastor attending, I agree with the statement, wholeheartedly.
So you mean to tell me, you have all this Power, and you know all this Word, but you don't own anything. Really? So, God called to ministry but you dint know where your next meal is going to come from, so that's my job to feed you. Look, I got no problem with tithing. But why on Earth would the Lord tell you to leave your job, knowing that the people of your congregation are not gonna feed you. But you're gonna wait on God.
So you can lay hands and pray in tongues, and sing like an angel, but you weigh all of 400, and I should be Holy, but you don't have to exercise any self-discipline.
So you can prophecy, and tell me what the Lord has in store for me, and I better not look at you wrong because your God's prophet, but you don't have a car, and you dint have job and when you die, you're going to leave your family with nothing... I love the Lord, but I don't feel like my mind is strong enough to endure the "fellowship," anymore.
I have a real zeal for God and I won't allow myself to get caught up in religion, so I don't go to church that often, I'm not crushed when I miss it, and everybody was not meant to save should inside the "church house."
